“<\/span>Helping others fuels my motivation and positive energy<\/span><\/i>” states Enrica Lipari, People & Culture Director at Growens.<\/span><\/p>\n

At Growens, caring for others is one of the core principles that define our corporate culture. As part of our<\/span> people-centered initiatives<\/b>, the Group offers employees paid hours to engage in volunteering activities, thereby contributing positively to society.<\/span><\/p>\n

Why Growens has volunteering at heart\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Growens embodies <\/span>four core values<\/span><\/a>: <\/span>Passion, Caring, Open-Mindedness, and Trust<\/b>. The value of caring, in particular, reflects the commitment to taking care of both <\/span>talents<\/b> and the community in which the company operates. Employees have the opportunity to make a difference during work hours, thanks to <\/span>eight paid hours <\/b>per year for volunteering activities.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

This project not only enriches employees’ lives <\/span>both personally and professionally,<\/b> but also allows them to feel part of something greater. Moreover, it increases satisfaction levels and fosters a<\/span> sense of belonging <\/b>to the community.<\/span><\/p>\n

Volunteering: a benefit for everyone\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n

Allowing employees to take time off work for charitable activities brings several advantages to<\/span> both companies and employees<\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It helps create a<\/span> positive work environment<\/b>, improves staff morale and motivation, and attracts new talents looking for socially engaged employers.<\/span><\/p>\n

Flavio Sartori, QA Engineer – Volunteer for I Baskettosi\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

“<\/span>My experience with <\/span><\/i>I Baskettosi<\/span><\/i><\/a>, a unified basketball team where athletes with mental disabilities play alongside able-bodied players, began about ten years ago when a teammate, already a volunteer with the association, asked me to join a tournament because they were short a player. From that moment, I <\/span><\/i>fell in love with this world<\/i><\/b> and never left it.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I used the volunteer hours provided by Growens to participate with the team in the third edition of the<\/span><\/i> K\u00f6rmend Unified Basketball Cup <\/i><\/b>in Hungary, a tournament featuring six teams from Italy, Hungary, Serbia, and Slovenia. It was an intense experience, and being in contact with the players is always something <\/span><\/i>magical<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

In these moments, you truly appreciate the <\/span><\/i>team spirit<\/i><\/b> and the bond between the athletes (those with mental disabilities), the partners (able-bodied players), and the staff, living together closely for<\/span><\/i> 24 hours a day<\/i><\/b>, not just on the basketball court.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Such experiences make you come home physically tired but happy. <\/span><\/i>Their smiles after a basketball match<\/i><\/b> are always rewarding, and the physical fatigue becomes secondary.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

The paid volunteer hours allow me to support these players even more, and it is <\/span><\/i>greatly appreciated <\/i><\/b>by both myself and my association. This benefit is a very important plus.<\/span><\/i>“<\/span><\/p>\n

Agostino Molinaro, Backend Engineer – Volunteer for Lamezia Comics & Co\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

“My experience at <\/span><\/i>Lamezia Comics & Co<\/span><\/i><\/a>, the comics fair in my city, was my first volunteering activity. Having always loved and attended <\/span><\/i>these fairs<\/i><\/b>, I decided last year to contribute to the event by <\/span><\/i>volunteering<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I am sure that I will soon undertake a similar experience again. Contributing to this initiative allowed me to participate in the<\/span><\/i> fair organization<\/i><\/b> and gave me the opportunity to meet many other people <\/span><\/i>involved in volunteering<\/i><\/b>.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

It was a <\/span><\/i>valuable<\/i><\/b> experience where I made new friends and connected with other organizations, such as <\/span><\/i>Plastic Free<\/i><\/b>, where I would like to volunteer in the future.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Tory Del Favero, People Business Partner – Volunteer for a Golf Tournament<\/b><\/h3>\n

“I don’t remember a time in my life when I wasn’t volunteering. I come from a service-oriented family, and helping others was something we did together. I grew up in an environment where it was clear that for the community to thrive, <\/span><\/i>everyone\u2019s help<\/i><\/b> was needed.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

This is the<\/span><\/i> third consecutive year that I have used the eight volunteer hours provided by Growens. One year, I participated in a <\/span><\/i>school beautification project<\/i><\/b>, another year I hosted a <\/span><\/i>fundraising<\/i><\/b> event for scholarships for young people, and this year I worked at a<\/span><\/i> golf tournament<\/i><\/b>. This experience aimed to raise funds for teacher grants and<\/span><\/i> supplies for children<\/i><\/b>, such as scientific calculators.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I find a lot of <\/span><\/i>beauty in volunteering<\/i><\/b>, and having time provided by the company allows me to be present and be part of something that adds <\/span><\/i>value<\/i><\/b> to my community. I am certain that I will continue to volunteer because doing good feels good.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Enrica Lipari, People & Culture Director – Volunteer for Skillando Digital Volunteering\u00a0<\/b><\/h3>\n

“I have dedicated myself to volunteering on various occasions throughout my life because <\/span><\/i>helping others <\/i><\/b>fuels my motivation and positive energy. <\/span><\/i>As a teenager<\/i><\/b>, I helped clean the mountains around Cava de\u2019 Tirreni, the town in Southern Italy where I lived, and assisted the elderly with their errands.<\/span><\/i> During my university years <\/i><\/b>in Rome, I helped immigrants navigate the local bureaucracy.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

However, it was late last year that I felt a stronger call towards a specific mission. This led me to enroll in <\/span><\/i>Digital for Humanity<\/i><\/b> in January 2024. Considering the professional skills I have acquired over time, my lifestyle, and flexible work, I found the <\/span><\/i>Skillando Digital Volunteering<\/span><\/i><\/a> project to be the perfect channel for my availability and desire to help. Promoted by <\/span><\/i>Digital for Humanity<\/span><\/i><\/a>, this project aims to <\/span><\/i>reduce the digital divide <\/i><\/b>by educating and raising awareness among citizens to minimize social, economic, and cultural differences.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Thanks to the volunteer hours provided by Growens and its flexible work model (<\/span><\/i>WoW program<\/span><\/i><\/a>), I took part in two internal projects within the organization: the <\/span><\/i>onboarding process<\/i><\/b> for new volunteers (buddyship) and the <\/span><\/i>organization of the annual volunteer meetup<\/i><\/b>.\u00a0<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Recently, I also joined the first mission with the <\/span><\/i>Refugees Welcome<\/span><\/i><\/a> team, working on the Organizational Design stream to improve the organization’s operations and create a scalable model for the welcome initiative. This experience had a significant impact on me. Working alongside the Skillando Digital Volunteering team, composed of skilled and kind professionals in several fields, I also <\/span><\/i>acquired new skills <\/i><\/b>and awareness.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

I believe that companies play an<\/span><\/i> important role<\/i><\/b> in supporting and taking <\/span><\/i>responsibility<\/i><\/b> for their people and the environment around them. Therefore, especially for companies like ours that operate on an international scale, with the ambitious goal of <\/span><\/i>democratizing content design<\/i><\/b>, it is important to encourage our professionals to embrace enriching and rejuvenating experiences like volunteering.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

My journey with Skillando DV is still ongoing, and I hope to participate in many more initiatives with them, while at the same time embrace new initiatives focused on my local area”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
